Record snowfall on the Grand Mesa made for an Epic Snowy Colorado Wedding for Taylor and Thomas!  The canyon like paths that led to the cabins and through the trees were so amazing to see.  I honestly don't think I've seen that much snow in my entire life living in Colorado!  Thomas and Taylor embraced the beauty as they said I do and wish to give thanks to their many friends and family who helped lend a hand to see that their day went off without a hitch!  The day was stunningly beautiful, see for yourself...

A Geek Wedding | Alex + Britt

What's a nerdy, science themed wedding without an actual chemical reaction?!  Alex and Britt recently tied the knot at Pioneer Town in Cedaredge, CO and let me tell you their wedding was EPIC!  Every last detail of their big day has a story behind it, all the way down to the cat litter buckets used to display flowers at the greeting table.  I will give you the specifics in a later post once I've finished editing this amazing wedding.  For now, please enjoy these few sneak peeks of the nerdiest wedding I've ever photographed!

Colorado Wedding Photographer | Christian + Amber

Great Gatsby Wedding | Ruben + Carrie | Grand Junction Photographer

Who doesn't love a themed wedding?!  How about the Great Gatsby themed wedding?!  I love when a couple decides to stray from tradition and add a little funk and fun to their special day!  Ruben and Carrie did just that!  These two have been together for 5 years and decided it was time to tie the knot.  They love throwing themed parties and thought why not have a themed wedding!  With all the hairstyles changing back to the hipster comb over, 1920's style, they decided to do a Great Gatsby wedding!  They knew all of their family and friends would love to dress the part.  And they did!  Every single guest participated and showed up in their best Gatsby attire!  It was truly the most unique and beautiful wedding I've seen.  Ruben and Carrie wish to send a BIG thank you to all of their vendors and guests for making their day so memorable!

Inspiration Winter Wedding Shoot | Colorado Wedding Photographer

Why plan a winter wedding?

As a wedding vendor I know that the busiest months for marriage are May through September and you can be sure that couples book the vendors they want up to a year in advance.  Couples often miss out on the perfect venue or wedding photographer or even the most popular DJ because the summer months fill up so quickly.  So, why not plan a winter wedding?

Here are a few reasons you might want to consider holding off until the snow flies!

~ A winter wedding provides a magical feel of "winter wonderland"!

~  Guests schedules are less busy during the winter months because most people plan family vacations throughout the warmer season.  You are sure to see a lot more RSVP's from your guest list!

~  The snow and dreary backdrops are surprisingly beneficial when planning out your color scheme as they pretty much go with anything.  You can add as much contrast as you like without worrying about whether or not your wedding colors will clash with the freshly mowed green grass.

~  If you are a holiday fanatic then you have the option of planning for a Christmas or New Year's themed wedding

~   Most of all:  Winter weddings can be much lighter on the pocket book and your budget as most vendors offer discounts during the slower seasons!  (That's reason enough right there!)
